Summary

Focuses on the increased stress that has resulted from the recession. The article argues that stress has become less focused on the job and more focused on life in general. Stress, then, contributes to a variety of negative outcomes, both at work and at home. It can also result in increased levels of workplace violence. Some employers are taking steps to help reduce the stress being experienced by employees. The article provides several examples. Stress management programs, town hall meetings, and EAP services are some of the tactics employers are using to combat stress.
