Summary

This article focuses on the things that successful leaders do and how to incorporate them into one’s routine. First, great leaders provide their employees with opportunities for them to grow and develop, while also providing coaching, mentoring, and feedback along the way. Second, great leaders increase employee engagement by attaching meaning and purpose to their work and communicating how their role affects the lives of customers and contributes to the overall organizational mission. Third, great leaders provide their employees with encouragement and affirmation. Fourth, great leaders optimize training and development by incorporating various techniques such as experiential learning, coaching, and electronic platforms. In sum, there are specific behaviors that make leaders great, and attempting to mimic those behavior can help others reach that potential.
