4 ways to help employees find meaning at work

This article focuses on ways organizations can help employees feel a stronger sense of personal meaning in their work. The article lists four potential methods, the first is for organizations to offer frequent validations and recognition of their work and how it relates to the greater goals of the organization. The second way is for organizations to connect jobs to a greater cause by clearly stating the organization’s vision, mission, strategy, and goals within the context of any given job. The third method is for organizations to create a strong sense of community by encouraging employees to start clubs or groups and by instituting an open communication process between employees and employers. Finally, the article suggests that organizations can increase employee meaning by sponsoring and encouraging continuous learning on the job.
