Summary

This study assesses a large-scale 2-year cross-sectional intervention aimed at reducing sedentary behaviors. In twenty-four worksites from various sectors, the reach of the intervention was 65% for employers and 58% for employees, with 59% of the worksites participating after randomization into conditions. Aspects of the intervention were modified 18 times to adjust for various obstacles encountered
during implementation. The study concludes that a participant-centric sedentary behavior reduction intervention may help to ensure that workplace interventions are successful.
